The auction is to be held in Kolkata and the base price of some foreign cricketers has also been fixed for this. Australia's Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Chris Lynn, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, South Africa's Dale Steyn and Sri Lanka's Angelo Mathews will be the most expensive overseas players at the auction. All these will have a base price of Rs 2 crore.

997 players have got their names registered for auction in the IPL, out of which only 332 players have been shortlisted. Out of 332 shortlisted players, 186 are Indian players while 143 are foreign players and three are Associate Country players. Robin Uthappa was released by Kolkata Knight Riders this year.

His base price is the highest among Indian players. Piyush Chawla, Yusuf Pathan and Jaydev Unadkat were also released by their franchise teams for this season. All these will have a base price of Rs 1 crore. The base price of 9 players out of all foreign players is Rs 1.5 crore. All others have a base price of between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 1 crore.

Among the foreign players, Eoin Morgan, Jason Roy, Chris Morris, Chris Woakes, Adam Jampa, Sean Marsh, David Wiley, Ken Richardson and Kyle Abbott have a base price of Rs 1.5 crore. American fast bowler Ali Khan was part of the IPL auction last year, he has been shortlisted again and his base price is Rs 20 lakh. UAE fast bowler Zahoor Khan and Scotland left-handed batsman George Munsey are two more players from the Associate country. The base price of these two will also be Rs 20 lakh.
